St Xavier’s School is established and administered by Vishwa Jyoti Educational Society. St Francis Xavier is our patron who was a Roman Catholic missionary born in the castle of Xavier near Sangnesa, Navarre in Spain. He led an extensive mission in the southern part of India. He worked among the poorest of the poor along the west coromandel coast ofIndia and gave enlightenment to the fishermen who were educationally, socially and economically backward.
Our founder Mr. Thomas Joseph is basically from Kerala, which is the most educated state in India having 98% literacy. Kerala is also known as “God’s own Country”. He came to the holy city of Varanasi in the early 90’s as a social worker. He devoted much of his time in preaching the gospel and helping out the disabled children in Varanasi. He also dedicated his time to educate the illiterate. During those days he got inspiration from Father Vinod (Indian Missionary Society) to extend his services in the field of rural education. He then ventured out with his wife Valsamma Thomas and chose Badlapur as the most suitable place to start a school. The reason for choosing Badlapur was that there were no quality education facilities in the area where the main occupation of the locals is farming.

The School was established on the 20th of February 1999 with 9 children from L.K.G to class 2nd .By the end of the first month itself, the strength of the students rose to 100 by the grace of almighty. After that every year there was a constant increase in the number of students and higher classes were started. At present the school is upto Class 10 th with a total strength of 1200 students.

The school has applied for affiliation to CBSE for class 11th &12th.We have started from humble beginnings with meager means. A strong determination and faith in god helped us to come up to the present level.
